Wish I Could Be Your Girl

This is the song that changed my life in many ways. I had written it in my old apartment, on the floor of my bedroom. Conceptually, it covers similar feelings to the rest of the EP. This was the catalyst for the concept of the record. It feels much more innocent than the songs that followed after, because I had no idea that this would become part of a greater whole, part of a larger story. When I had written it, it was purely because I needed somewhere to put these feelings of self-doubt.

Ultimately, it is a song about wishing I could be the kind of partner that is unfazed by insecurity, easy to be with. Simultaneously, I think this song is an ode to being honest with oneself, even if I am not “that girl”, I’m me, and somehow that’s okay too.
